What to Expect

Call, text, or e-mail Dr. Kristen to schedule an appointment time. Our veterinarian wants to help you through this process.  Before your appointment, if you have any concerns, requests, cultural or religious beliefs that should be recognized, etc. please let us know so that we can be as accommodating as possible. 

When Dr. Kristen arrives, she will text you before attempting to knock to avoid exciting any pets in the house.  You will spend about 5-10 minutes speaking with our veterinarian, where we will do a quality-of-life counseling session and then review and finalize any paperwork and aftercare wishes.  Payment will be due at this time.  

Your veterinarian will give your pet sedation.  This is often given by an injection.  It is often helpful for the pet to be distracted by a yummy treat while they get the injection. Our veterinarian will bring a few options, but feel free to have their favorites handy.  Once they are sedate, the doctor will administer a medication that helps them to pass.  After your pet has peacefully passed, you will be given the option to spend some private time to say your goodbyes. We will then gather any requested memorabilia, and if you have chosen cremation, Dr. Kristen will transport your pet.
